The Steca PR1010 charge controller uses a unique control algorithm that other charging technology. The Steca PR1010 algorithm combines battery temperature, battery voltage, and load discharge rate to determine the true battery SOC. The PR1010 charge controller has a built in memory and records discharge patterns and then enables the Steca PR1010 controller calculate the degree of battery sulfation. The Steca PR1010 memory enables for better accuracy when calculating true battery SOC. The PR1010 by Steca, automatically compensates for the amp hours and age of the battery. The resulting battery SOC is displayed within a .10 accuracy. The Steca PR1010 hybrid and patented regulator combines both shunt and series technology for minimal consumption. Maximum wire gauge is 4 awg. Steca’s PR1010 Tarom feature has adjustable set points. Each set point is stored in the memory. Available Tarom options for the Steca PR1010 are an external data logger, external shunts and a remote temperature sensor. The Steca PR1010 has options including controlling solar panel that need to shed load or PV shed based on the battery state of charge and then communicated with the controller over a DC data bus.
